Metamora Films continues to expand in 2017! Keeping with a similar mission as Metamora Films, the festival strives to promote indie films that inspire, transform and educate. The festival recognizes filmmakers in their creative film endeavors and hopes to impact the world using the power of film.  Dramas, documentaries, shorts, student films, social justice, human rights, spiritual…these are just a few examples of genres presented at the Metamora Film Festival.  The festival awards prizes 3x per year: spring, summer and fall.

We not only recognize filmmakers in their creative film endeavors, it’s also our mission to impact the world using the power of film.

After a successful spring, 2017 session, Director, Matt Duhamel says he hopes that in 2018, the festival can hold live film screenings either in Vancouver, Washington or Portland, Oregon.  Co-Directors and judges of the festival include: Deanna Hays of Santa Rosa, CA and Carolyn Esparza of Dallas, Texas.

The Metamora Film Festival is a great way for indie student filmmakers to get noticed as they begin their film career.  With a low fee of only $5.00 (early deadline), the festival encourages students to submit early to take advantage of the low fees.





Since relocating to the Pacific Northwest in April, Metamora Films and the festival is currently working on a collaboration with Open Signal, Portland, Oregon’s Community Media Center.  The goal is to air each winning film on Open Signal’s TV station, which reaches a potential of 400,000 viewers throughout the Portland metro. With a commitment to creativity, technology and social change, Open Signal makes media production possible for everyone. They provide skills, equipment, inspiration and we amplify local voices on five cable channels.

Another perk for film winners is a 1-year subscription to iPitch.TV, a site that allows you to pitch your idea for a television show or movie. iPitch.TV offers a next generation platform for creators of original pitches for TV, Film & Digital Media to connect directly with Hollywood Producers and Studio Executives and gives creators industry pro advice on how to pitch a television show or feature film.  Official Selection films receive a free 3-month subscription.

Weber State University Screens Matt Duhamel Film Which Examines Rental Problems Facing Ex-Felons
